It all started when Jeff found the perfect used desk before he started law school. We dubbed our huge high style 1970's new-to-us purchase as The Executive. We kept the desk alive with jerry rigged legs and a few shims here and there. Right after Jeff passed the Bar, we decided to put the condo on the market, so the monstrous Executive had to go.
THE EXECUTIVE II
As soon as we moved into a house, Jeff immediately found another leather-topped desk that yet again took up half of almost any room. This particular desk must have been purchased while going through studying withdrawals. Anywhoo, the only name that would ever be remotely appropriate is The Executive II. (Personally, the best desk accessory was my previous employer's 1980's board room burgundy chair that matched the leather top. UGLY, but surprisingly comfortable.)
Thanks to craigslist, we said goodbye to our last Executive this morning. With a growing family, some extra living space is higher on the wish list than our love for hearty desks. So to the beloved Executives in our lives, thanks for the jerry rigging splinters and hernias from moving you so many times. Happy memories!
